Hi, I'm Wesley

I first began hacking on computers when I was 12. I installed linux on my computer because I wanted it to run faster. Since then I've created software that has competed in the Nasa rover competition, built immersive games, fullstack services, android apps, and reached millions of users.

I like writing code that people use. I realized that best application that sits on my hard drive means nothing to me. This is why I care about customer feedback, deadlines, and project vision.

Most recently I've been working on smart contract for Ethereum and Bitcoin, and building sass products that integrate with distributed ledger technology.

Clients

We decided to go with Wesley because he is very easy to communicate with--a rare trait for an engineer to have!

James May

We had worked with other code shops before, but we found it much easier to work with Wesley and his team because he understood how to translate our product vision into a real app.

Michelle Kossa

Students

I had wanted to pursue a career in web development, but until I took Wesley's course I never would have thought it was possible. He inspired me to pursue a dream, to not give up, and to take risks.

Alex Pavia

I wanted to make the transition from being a data scientist at Adobe to software engineering. I didn't think there was a course that would fit where I am, but with Wesley's instruction I was easily able to make the jump into application development.

Nasa Rover Competition

I competed with a team in the nasa rover competition. The competition involves a simulated extra-planetary rover mission where the robot needs to traverse varying difficulties of terrain while collecting and storing rock samples.

The project is sponsored by the College of Engineering at the University of Utah comprised of undergraduates and postgraduates.

I developed communication interface that allowed the robot to be driven with an Xbox controller over a 4g network.

Our team took 2nd place at the competition.

Technologies Used: Beagle Board, Arduino, C++, Potentiometer, Robot Operating System

HipGeo

HipGeo was a blogging and social networking app for travel. You could use the app to passively track your route on trips and intelligently collect your media and text uploads into replayable trip posts.

The social elements let you see what's going on around you as well as keep you up to date on your friends' adventures.

I worked on the iPhone and Android apps along with one other team member. HipGeo was featured in Forbes, TechCrunch, PCMag, ReadWriteWeb, Engadget, and GigaOM.

Technologies Used: Android SDK, PhP, Amazon Web Services, Android NDK, FFMPEG

Canvas

Canvas is a learning management system for universities and schools. It allows students to create class discussions, submit homework, and check their grades.

Today, more than 2,000 universities, school districts and institutions around the world use Canvas reaching over 10 million students, teachers, and instructors.

Canvas has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, Tech Crunch, and PC Mag.

See Canvas for android on the Google Play Store or the App Store.

Technologies Used: Android SDK, Ruby on Rails, REST

Isomer Code School

I founded and ran a 3 month programming bootcamp course. We taught adults with no prior coding experience how to build basic application and land a job.

The average salary of our graduates was $70k.

I managed 5 other instructors, as well as all aspects of the business including marketing, social media, and lead generation.

My teaching programs have been written about in The Salt Lake Tribune, Beehive Startups, and featured on radio shows such as The Bottom Line and Mountain Money.

Technologies Used: MEANjs, javascript, Mongo DB, Bootstrap

iWorlds

iWorlds is a multi-player educational space simulation company that incorporates learning and technology in a team building environment.

Classrooms were retrofitted to look like the inside of a space ship. Imagine being on the bridge of the star trek voyager while you explore the stars.

Over 300,000 students have gone through these simulations.

Technologies Used: Python, Java, Swing, Ogre3D

Artificial Intelligence Quotient

AIQ, LLC is a registered investment advisory firm located in Park City, Utah. We used machine learning to make market predictions.

While I worked with AIQ, I wrote python code that would pull index fund data and categorize it.
